Network Administrator

Description
Provides overall network support for a broad range of programs. Supports acquisition, installation, configuration, maintenance and usage of the Local Area Network (LAN) and/or World Wide. Manages daily operations of local and wide area networks within span of control. May propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage. Assists in planning for upgrades and replacements for facilities interconnected on a common network. Acts as initial point of contact for LAN/WAN problems at the site. Provides the focal point for coordination of high tiers of maintenance support. Involves comprehensive knowledge of this technical field and the ability to complete difficult and complex assignments. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet objectives. Work is reviewed and measured based on meeting objectives and schedules. Establishes and recommends changes to policies which effect subordinate organization(s). Contingent on Army G1 Contract award. Work is at Fort Belvoir.
Required Skills:
Six (6) or more years of work experience related to computer and network hardware and software.
Education and Certification Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related scientific or computer field.
