Senior Network Engineer

Description
The senior network engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and documenting network solutions. Engineer will lead projects from start to finish, ranging from basic circuit installations to complex routing solutions. Candidate will act as a technical lead and mentor for junior and mid-level engineers. Majority of work will be carried out for the Department of Defense; therefore candidate must currently have a DoD Top Secret Clearance. This position will require some travel as projects dictate. Candidate should be knowledgeable with various WAN circuit and carrier technologies, including T1/E1, T3, ATM, POS, and MPLS. Primarily this position will be working a large MPLS migration project along with an enterprise DNS migration, requiring an extensive knowledge of the following protocols: OSPF, BGP, IPSec, DNS, and DHCP. Candidate should be familiar with DISA STIG, network security, and best practices. The ideal candidate will be experienced in Cisco network devices as well as Infoblox DNS appliances.
Required Skills:
- Expert at configuration and deployment of Cisco routers and switches
- Expert knowledge of OSPF, BGP, HSRP, and IPSec
- Strong knowledge of Layer 2 (802.1q, PVST+, VLAN's, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of DNS and DHCP
- Strong understanding of network security devices (Firewalls, IDS/IPS, sniffers, etc.)
- Experience with Visio and other network design and documentation tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Education and Certification Requirements:
- Bachelor degree OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Active security clearance (Top Secret - Interim is acceptable)
- Candidates must have one of the following certifications: CCNP, CCNA, CISSP, etc.
- Must have or be able to obtain Security+ certification within 90 days from start date
