Senior Systems Engineer

Description:
The Senior Systems Engineer will provide technical services and multiple tiers of support to the DoD Customer. Specifically this position will serve to design, implement, document, and transfer a network management systems environment to the DoD customer.
Primary services include installation, configuration, and support of servers, networks, and associated equipment and software for this project. Training to operational staff during implementation process. Delivering a tested and documented implementation of the network management environment upon completion. Remote Services: Services that may be provided remotely include network monitoring, and Tier 3 application support.
Required Experience and Skills:
DoD 8570.01-M IAT2 Certification (i.e. GSEC, Security+, SCNP, SSCP) DoD 8570.01-M CE IAT2 (i.e. MCSA, MCSE, MCIPT SA, MCIPT EA, MCM: Windows Server/SQL, and GCWN) 10+ years server hardware configuration and maintenance 7+ years designing, deploying, and managing Windows 2003/2008 Servers to include Microsoft clustering. 2+ years deploying and maintaining Windows 2008 based application servers. Microsoft SQL Server Installation, Configuration, and Management experience. Familiarity with Cisco IOS. Thorough understanding of the OSI model and network communications.
Preferred Experience and skills:
The successful candidate will possess knowledge and skills in the following: DISA STIG requirements Utilization of DISA GOLD Disk Hands-on experience in server hardware/software repair/troubleshooting Dell, HP, Compaq servers Shared storage solutions Microsoft Windows 2003, 2008 Microsoft IIS6 and IIS7 Microsoft SQL Security including firewall configurations, server configurations, and desktop client applications VMWare LAN, firewall, switches, routers, troubleshooting, high level knowledge of TCP/IP Familiarity and experience with Linux and/or similar Unix-based servers.
