Description:

Candidate will be responsible for the successful implementation of large infrastructure build-out for an agency of the Department of Defense. Project will include an extensive OSP installation covering over 30 buildings as well as a substantial ISP installation, migration and cut-over. Candidate will supervise OSP and ISP construction as well as migration, ensure implementation as per industry and contract standards, prepare daily reports, issue site instructions to subcontractor(s), identify discrepancies if the contractor implements project in a non-conforming or sub-standard manner, track tools, equipment and materials on site, evaluate subcontractors and staff, and provide adequate documentation for as-built drawings. Candidate shall interface with on-site POCs, agency personnel, subcontractors, employees, and internal management. Candidate will report to the Implementation Manager. Candidate will have a current Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance. This job requires extensive travel throughout the continental United States. Candidate will have the ability to manage large work crews, and subcontractors, as well as material/equipment/tool acquisition and inventory. Position is a salaried full time position with opportunity for advancement.

Required Experience and Skills:

Preferred candidate will have experience installing cabling & electronic devices associated with telecommunications and computer networking systems. Candidate must have 5 or more years of experience in installation of cabling & electronic devices associated with telecommunications and computer networking systems. Candidate will have experience supervising subcontractors and managing work crews to achieve project goals and meet deadlines. Candidate will also have the ability to generate pre and post site reports and coordinate documents for crew operations.

  • Willingness to travel 90% throughout continental US.
  • 7-15 years experience on large OSP/ISP projects managing large teams of employees and subcontractors.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be a team player.

Preferred Experience and skills:

Candidate with EMT conduit experience is preferred. Experience with multiple fiber cable splicing techniques and Fluke DTX-1800 cable analyzer is a plus. Network design experience is a plus as well as Network engineering knowledge/experience.
