Network Performance Optimization
Enterprise networks carrying data, voice, streaming video, and other services must evolve as an organization evolves with changing applications, services, traffic load, and network defenses. The enterprise network manager must balance this environment of constant change with economic factors to deliver the greatest benefit to the organization’s mission. NES Associates is an industry leader in analyzing network performance and cost and arming our customers with alternatives that improve performance while lowering total cost of operations. We analyze the network infrastructure for potential bottlenecks, opportunities for routing optimization, options to prioritize traffic and alternative paths to determine a plan of action. By evaluating the overall environment including Wireless, LAN and WAN infrastructure and configurations we determine the optimum configuration for the lowest possible cost. In addition to network performance, our systems management experts are available to evaluate server and application configuration to identify end to end performance issues. Representative customer engagements include:
Defense Distribution Center (DDC) Network Path Diversity. The DDC Path Diversity project provides critical network redundancy for DDC sites to ensure there are no single points of failure in the networks that support site operations. Our solution resulted in the design and installation of a second physical path based on current base/post/camp/station (BPCS) network demarcation points for 27 DDC sites. As part of project implementation we assisted the customer in negotiating significantly lower rates for the service that resulted in a lower overall operational cost while improving both throughput and availability.
