DCMA Awards NES Associates $142 Million Contract for MOCAS

Alexandria, October 14, 2016 – The Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) awarded NES Associates (NES) a contract with a ceiling of $142 million for the Mechanization of Contract Administration Services (MOCAS) on July 8, 2016, with a duration of two years with four 2-year option periods.  After a protest period, NES stands ready to begin work on this exciting program.

This new contract will provide professional and technical support to modernize MOCAS, a mainframe system nearly 6 decades old.  These world class services will include project management, life cycle management, strategic planning and enterprise architecture support, system design and development, among others.

“We are very excited to support DCMA on the modernization of this important system. Our prior experience supporting DCMA programs gives us solid footing as we strengthen the MOCAS enterprise and related systems,” said Andy Gomer, NES CEO.

DCMA has worked directly with suppliers since 2000 to ensure that the Department of Defense (DoD), Federal, and allied government suppliers meet all delivery, cost, and performance requirements of contracts. DCMA controls the military’s readiness by delivering DoD, and its partners’, actionable acquisition insights around the globe.

The goal of the MOCAS program is to modernize and streamline the mechanization of contract administration services.  MOCAS is managed by both DCMA and the Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) as an integrated system supporting contracts administration and entitlement following an award.

NES has over 10 years of experience providing IT services to DCMA and holds the prime contract for two of DCMA’s largest software programs.  This experience gives NES strong familiarity with DCMA processes and procedures.  NES, known for exceptional results in Enterprise IT Solutions, was one of seven companies awarded the $142 million deal to help modernize the DoD’s acquisition system.
